ZMS Schwandorf - Optimisation of the slag processing plant completed
Company, Slag processing, ZMS Schwandorf | | Created by RedaktionThe work to optimise the slag processing plant at the Schwandorf waste-to-energy plant was completed on schedule. After almost trouble-free, four-week trial operation, the plant was accepted at the end of November 2022.
During the conversion, a conveyor channel was replaced by a conveyor belt that is almost 2 metres wide and over 11 metres long. In addition, the Loibl company replaced a high-speed drum with a 7-tonne overband magnet. This allowed the non-ferrous metal separator to be rotated by 180° and the discharge positions of individual fractions and the corresponding drop chutes to be adjusted. Accordingly, not insignificant adjustments to the steelwork and platform construction were necessary.
According to Thomas Paulus, the optimisation of the discharge positions as well as the partly much more generously dimensioned drop chutes "completely fulfil the expectations we had of the conversion". He reports further: "Loibl has once again proven its extremely positive impression after the work on the main contract. Only through their precise planning and absolute reliability was it possible to carry out and complete the work without delays."
