Adrian Baumann, shift supervisor at Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH:

"I love my job and simply everything that has to do with metal processing. The fact that I'm doing further training, even though I have a full-time job and have already been employed at Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH for 10 years, was a matter of course for me. All it takes is perseverance and the will to constantly improve and give your best."

From metal worker to industrial master craftsman

In 2011, Adrian began his career at Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH. The trained metalworker specialized in construction technology started as a fitter and welder. Three years later he took over as night shift manager. Since 2018, he has been shift manager for the entire production. Despite his successes, he decided to add on further training to become an industrial master craftsman in metal. "The choice was quite logical for me," he explains with a smile. Someone who loves his job always has the motivation to improve and learn more.

The time during his apprenticeship held ups and downs for him. "I remember our instructor telling us during one of our classes that we would change. We would develop into leaders. I found that to actually be true."

He now approaches problems differently, motivating his employees as often as he can and pushing them to improve and get more out of their work. What he's learned makes him realize how important it is to raise the quality awareness of his employees. "It's great to see that I can leave a mark on the work of other employees through my own actions."

But getting there hasn't always been easy. The challenge of balancing education, job and personal life, and the uncertainty of whether exams would be canceled because of Corona, made Adrian struggle. How did he motivate himself anyway? "I didn't focus on the difficulties, but kept my goals clearly in mind." His perseverance helped him keep going.

As for his future at Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH, he plans to stay involved and actively support the company. "I have always liked the team mentality at Loibl. Only together we will continue to stay consistent and strong."

He also doesn't overlook the topic of trainees: "In the future, I will teach our trainees more, in terms of practical experience, to strengthen them and make them better for their working life at Loibl, and also to make the company more attractive to young people."
