Refurbishment and partial renewal
Energie AG Oberösterreich has been operating systems for thermal waste recycling at the Wels site for almost 25 years. Line I was fundamentally retrofitted and partially renewed by Loibl in June 2017.
The two lines of the waste incineration plant at the Wels site are designed for a total annual throughput of around 320,000 tons of waste. This not only reduces the volume of waste by around 90%, but also generates electricity and heat at the same time.
The generation of electricity and heat makes a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gases and CO2 emissions.
In order to guarantee the productivity of the waste incineration plant in the future, some older plant components have been replaced with new, state-of-the-art conveyor technology. This made a significant contribution to further reducing emissions.
