Mayor & the economic development department of the city of Straubing visit Loibl

As part of recurring business talks, Mayor Markus Pannermayr and Straubing Economic Development Department visited Straubing-based and long-established company Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH.

During a joint round of talks and a short tour of the extensive production halls, City Councilor Alois Lermer, Daniela Bachmeier and Alexander Schiessl from the Economic Development Department, and Mayor Markus Pannermayr exchanged views with the management of Loibl Förderanlagen GmbH.

Richard Stoiber (CFO) and Karl Zeitler (CTO) informed the guests about the operational development of the past five years since their last visit in 2018. They presented the latest innovations of the internationally active machine and plant manufacturer. The company, which has been based in Straubing for more than 60 years now, manufactures customized conveyor solutions and state-of-the-art special machinery for energy producers and operators in the bulk materials industry. The company employs more than 150 people at its Straubing site for the development and production of its diverse product range.

During the panel discussion they exchanged ideas about common opportunities and perspectives. The Loibl management made constructive suggestions for improving Straubing as a business location. Together, they discussed current opportunities and challenges that medium-sized companies in Straubing are facing in the current economic situation.

Markus Pannermayr reported that he wants to make the city of Straubing attractive for workers in the future with numerous infrastructure projects.

"We are expanding our daycare infrastructure, developing areas for residential construction - especially in the area of subsidized housing - further expanding the sports, leisure and cultural offerings of the city of Straubing, and making the city center fit for the future with planned green spaces and water areas."

In the coming years, Loibl will continue to develop innovative technologies at the Straubing site to help municipalities and international operators achieve their sustainable goals and facilitate the transition to a greener future.
